Activities
At Sol De Ligogo we have the perfect space for exploring, be it in the bush or on the ocean. There are no formal tour companies to “take you on a tour” here in wild Mozambique. Bring your boat or your dune buggy or your four-wheeler and “make your own tour”.
Sol De Ligogo, your perfect start to unchecked exploration!
Your place for fun under the Ligogo Sun!
Fishing, Deep Sea or Shore
Do you have a boat and enjoy a deep-sea fishing adventure? Or do you prefer tangling with the ocean beasts from the shore with your rod and reel?
The tropical coastal waters bordering Mozambique are teeming with marine life.
On our stretch of beach at Sol De Ligogo, there is a beautiful bay on which to launch your boat.
Barracuda, marlin, dorado, kingfish and tuna are but a few of the many species of fish found in proliferation in our immediate ocean vicinity.
Bottom fishing is allowed. An up-to-date fishing license is required for boat-based and shoreline fishing; make sure to buy this before arrival.
Dirt bike, Quad or Buggy Trails
Are you a fan of ripping it up with your quad or your bike?
We have a great expanse of unexplored bush to be explored, with trails already forming through the favourite spaces.
If you have a beach or dune buggy and think racing the sands and dunes is more your style, Sol De Ligogo awaits.
Please remember that we encourage and insist upon safe and eco-friendly adventures; no animals should be harmed in your fun.
Snorkelling and Rock Pools
Are you an adventurer who loves to seek out hidden ecosystems? The abundantly present rock and tide pools littering the shore in front of Sol De Ligogo are calling to be explored.
Bring your mask and snorkel to tame the warm Indian Ocean waters and find your own under-the-sea adventure.
As Sebastian the singing crab said “Under the Sea. It is much better, down where it’s wetter. Under the Sea!”
Bird and Animal Watching
Tropical and sub-tropical bird species, as well as the many migratory species, can be readily seen at Sol De Ligogo Beach Lodge and on our surrounding property.
Don’t forget to bring along your camera and journal for the amazing rare and exotic species you have a great chance of seeing with us.
The trails around the lodge are continually developing and the beach stretches for kilometers uninterrupted, both north and south.
Even just a walk on the beach may produce some fantastic sightings of winged and legged creatures.
Without Leaving Sol De Ligogo Beach Lodge
Whale watching (only in season) and dolphin watching (year-round) can be done from the pool deck or any of the terraces with each chalet. Remember to bring your binoculars or camera to fully capture the moment.
Fun on the beach can be had year-round. Don’t forget sunscreen and an umbrella for sun protection or towels for the hot sand.
The pool area is available throughout your stay with us. Just remember a towel and sunscreen; your beverage of choice can be ordered to the pool.
A siesta is always available with the scent and the sound of the waves crashing to send you to dreamland. Or should you choose to keep your eyes open, crack your latest novel to enjoy a chapter or two.
The restaurant and bar are open daily, with solid or liquid refreshment never far away.
